Gillian McKeith's advice about blepharitis

In Gillian McKeith’s Food Bible she sets out an action plan for blepharitis:

It is important to treat the cause of blepharitis as well as the condition itself.

Eat/Drink
• Fruits and vegetables as these contain antioxidants needed for the immune system. They have healing, anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious properties.
• Freshly pressed vegetable juice to support the immune system. Good vegetables to include are carrots, apples, celery, fennel, beetroot, ginger, parsley, spinach and lettuce.
• Foods rich in betacarotene as this converts to vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is vital for eye health and immune function. Carrots, apricots, squash, pumpkin, spinach, watercress, broccoli and goji berries are all rich in betacarotene.
• Water. Water is vital for cleansing, immune function and eye health.
